What Causes Roof Leaks?
Most roof leaks start where the roof is interrupted: flashing at chimneys and walls, pipe boots, vents, skylights and valleys. Damaged shingles, ice dams and clogged gutters are the next most common causes.

Why the Stain Isn't Where the Leak Is
Water enters, runs along the deck or rafters, then drips where gravity takes it. The ceiling stain can be several feet from the actual entry point.
That's why we trace from the attic and roof, not just the ceiling. It's the core of our roof repair process.

What to Do Right Now
Limit the damage, then get the source found.
- Move belongings and put a bucket under drips.
- Poke a small hole in a bulging ceiling to let water drain in a controlled way.
- Photograph the damage for your records.
- Don't go on a wet or icy roof.
